The Writing Conventions

Writing, writing, writing. Everyone has their unique style of writing comments or sms-es. Some are slightly quirky (e.g. I overuse O.o when asking questions/writing a debatable comment OR breaking into German when describing something important like Das Bruder Kode)... some are just spastic (okay, I can't remember anything spastic but I know there is something out there... HELP ME GUYS/GIRLS... does starting most sentences with HAHA count? O.o)... but, nonetheless, we all have our own unique writing conventions, a code/guideline we always follow to ensure our writing looks neat and sounds good and is uniquely and noticeably OURS. Forget simple words like 'lol' or 'rofl' or any other abbreviation for that matter. Those are all child's play. We have moved on to achieve/attain a higher level of.... whatever that word is that has something to do with understanding

Writing Conventions: For the sake of saving time, WS means writing style

Denoting action -
Myko WS uses *action* or /*action*. The difference between the 2 is that *action* is more general and can be used in almost any situations while /*action* denotes a change in tone from a rather formal sentence. E.g. Competition law, known in the United States as antitrust law, are laws that promote or maintain market competition by regulating anti-competitive conduct. /*highfive*... *action* is also used to re-emphasize the strength of an emoticon (next paragraph) by describing the emotion and adding the word 'face' next to it without spacing for example in the sentence.... 'What is that? O.o *questionface*'
Anthea WS uses #action or -action- to denote an action
Joshua WS uses /action to denote action. Probably copied from Kat.

Emoticon styles -
Myko WS overuses 2 main emoticons (namely 'XD' and 'O.o') and also makes use of >.< and ^^ occasionally when attempting to describe the "diaoface" look AND D: to show the 'OMG WTF'/slightly disturbed/shocked look.... XD is commonly used as a filler because we have nothing better to say and because we don't quite feel satisfied when ending with a simple fullstop. O.o is used when arguing over a debatable subject or asking a question, for example, What is that? O.o ... or... Subway is not overpriced O.o .... ALSO, in Myko WS, there is a simple grammatical rule which must always be followed to ensure that the text is shone in a presentable manner, namely that 'end-emoticons" (the emoticons we put at the end of the sentence as fillers) CANNOT FOLLOW AFTER A FULLSTOP. What do I mean?
Example the 2 sentences below:
I'm kinda bored. :(
I'm kinda bored :(
The first sentence looks kinda weird due to the . : which looks like... Idk, weird stuff. Thus, whenever attempting to insert an end-emoticon after a sentence which should end with a fullstop, u either remove the fullstop OR change it into elipses OR change the direction of the smiley face
I'm kinda bored ... ): (notice that the smiley/sadface is nao facing the right)
End emoticons after ! or ? are still presentable and thus do not need to be changed. In-text emoticons should always follow by a lowercase letter. For example, in XD, the D is  big, thus should be followed a smaller, lowercase later  to compliment the size. When an emoticon ends with a colon or semicolon ": or ;", the emoticon should follow by Elipses (...)

EMOTICONS WHICH MYKO WS DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE - @.@ and ;_;... I simply dislike the look of those emoticions, thus, I do not use them.

Addressing others -
When addressing others, the simplest way of getting someone's attention is to use @name
However, when using @name, the main convention is using a colon (@theodore:) while Myko WS prefers using elipses (@theodore...)
Sentences after the elipses can begin in either caps or lowercase, depending on the context
When addressing others at the ends of the sentences, Myko WS follows correct english grammar by placing a comma before the name (e.g. What's that, Theodore) however doesn't abide by the law that all proper nouns should begin with a capitalized letter

Miscellaneous: Usage of /, ( ), Breaking into German and using of accents

Josh/Kat WS uses / followed by action to denote action (as stated above)
Myko WS simply uses / to denote OR (as shown in the above sentence, Josh/Kat) when the 2 things are related or are close to each other. When not related, the / turns into an 'or'
Myko WS, though not common in text, heavily uses brackets when on computers because they are much faster to type (cuz u have to spam the '1' button ALOT to get the bracket). Brackets are usually filled with points used to elaborate on the main sentence or used as helping hints to help ppl understand something, like, say, an inside joke...
Breaking into accents and using german is used when attempting to emphasize a certain something. Accents are commonly related to the context they were used in...Darth vader = epic voice, '20's mobster accent = nonchalant, informal/casual voice and so on. For example, if I want to emphasize the fact that I love BEN AND JERRY'S/ I WANT PPL TO KNOW HOW FRIGGING MUCH I LOVE BEN AND JERRY'S <3... I will probably use something like...

*in Darth Vader accent/any deep voice like Sean Connery*... I LOVE BEN AND JERRY'S

Thus, sometimes, when describing an accent, u take alot of time and effort to ensure that the reader can HEAR the accent and HEAR the way u want to the words to be said, and sometimes those *accent* can be really long ...

Wow. This is some really long blog post, but I hoped you found entertaining or at least enlightening and starts you on the path to achieve self-awareness...
P.S. San, you're welcome XD *in Scottish accent which fluctuates from low to high and back to low again* But I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at your door
